|
|
I just agreed with my boss to leave my job after 4 months. My American coworker gave me a rough draft of the release letter, which we will all sign tomorrow. I must give him my adaptations to the letter tomorrow.
What details are the most important?? What shouldn't I forget to include?
I have no doubt that my boss can and will screw me any way he can, so I want this letter to be loophole-free. (Or as close to that as possible in Korea) |

In the past - yes - one had to type up a letter themselves with all the necessary details.... etc... (with usually the reason stating for leaving - as the school was closing down)...
As of September 2006 - Immigration does not accept those "type/kind" of letters anymore -
Immigration now has their own "official letter of release" form - that you either must collect from one of their offices or download from their website...
Its a fairly simple form for you and your employer to complete (just one page) and the next MOST important thing is to have your employer use the "official school stamp" the big square one - to stamp on the form - other signatures or stamps (such as your employers small round person stamp) will not be accepted - must be the official school "business" square stamp... |

| Went to the Immigration website, and I saw a downloadable document for a tempory release. Any idea if this is the same as an LOR. |

I just went through the immigration website and there is no 'Letter of Release' form to be downloaded on there.
There is a release form on there but if you read it, it's for people who have been detained by immigration not people seeking to be released from their current employment.
Could you put up a copy of this 'Letter of Release' your talking about. I was in immigration about a week ago and asked them if there had been any changes and they told me, "no". |

After reading it, I do see that it is for people who have been detained. I suppose I will call immigration tomorrow to double check.
I searched the site in Korean and English and also found no LOR form. Just the one for temporary release, which states on it that it is for people who are detained.
Let you know what I find out after my phone call. |

Just spoke with immigration on this issue. They said we can type up the letter of release, and submit it with another piece of paper saying that we are terminating the contract.
Yesterday...I am curious where you got your information, because the word I got, straight from immigration contradicts yours. |
