It might have been best two weeks ago.

On Saturday I was hiking Jiri National Park - quite a bit south of Gyeongju so you'd expect the leaves to change later - and it was the tail end of the turning, seemed about a week after the best time, as most of the leaves had fallen or dried up.

That said, the leaves remaining were awesome. Don't delay!

Nothing has changed here in busan only about an hour from Gyeongju. Granted Gyeongju is at a higher elevation. Go thisweekend to be safe though.

I was in Gyeongju two weekends ago and it was a touch too early, this weekend should be pretty good. Starting to get cold finally.

i do realise that this is not much help now...but geongju is beautiful in march/april when the flowers are blossoming....its is really gorgeous and there are people everywhere and you can ride around the lake on rented bikes or motorbikes and just have a great time admiring the beauty...

cheers

If you haven't gone yet (if you have, this is irrelevant), I went this past weekend, and it was absolutely beautiful. The sky was that lovely autumn clear blue, and the leaves were amazingly vivid, bright reds and yellows. Judging from what I've seen of the Korea autumn, the pretty coloured leaves lasts for ages! I reckon this week might be the last week to see it, perhaps after that the leaves will have all disappeared.
I have photos if you don't get there on time!

I go to Gyeongju several times a year. Each season is beautiful. My favorite is to go to Solguram on Christmas day. I hope you got/get to see some nice colors this time.
