the search functions works OK if you only use one word or so. click "search" type in CDI and narrow it down to search posts for the last 3 months. you'll get at least 50 hits. |

If you have never been to Korea or have never taught before, CDI offers the benefits of your not having to deal with shady hagwon owners and they also offer a set curriculum which you will be trained to teach. Also, CDI will pay you in full (and pretty well) every month and they will help you obtain a cell phone, bank account, and a decent apartment. If you sign on the hourly contract, you will be teaching 24 hours a week during the afternoons/evenings, likely 6 hours/day and 4 days/week. You will only get one week of vacation and will not be given most Korean holidays. If you sign on the monthly contract, you will be working up to 6 days/week and you WILL be working 120 hours/month. I hope that helps you in making your decision easier. |

Most CDIs are franchises and they are all run a little differently from each other in regards to working hours/pay/quality of apartment/etc. |

i got an offer for next year from them for 2.4 + 300,000 housing stipend.
this is for someone with 3+ years exp, BA english, 40 hour tefl cert and on the MA TESOL course
i think they have waaaaay undervalued me on this, plus working on public holidays, finishing at 10pm and being in smelling distance of elementary schools kids again makes me want to give them the darth vader NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! from episode 3 |

Unlike some Unis and public gigs, most hagwon franchises or non-franchises don't care about your experience and qualifications. They only care about how you look.
If you look hot, you'll be offered more money. They think you'll attract more warm bodies into their hagwon only based on your looks, but not your abilities. |
