My experiences and most anecdotes I hear about the Korean police agency is, well, less than inspiring.

But I can't allow myself to believe that in a country of 40million+ there aren't a few stories about cops stepping up, protecting people, assisting people etc...

Where are those? Does anyone have one?

With all this crap that is going on with my friend, I really wanna think that the police could do something

This hardly qualifies as GOOD, but at least it isn't negative.
I once took a late night taxi toward home. We were blocks away, and the driver and I had a communication block.
I guess he couldn't understand where I was pointing.
I got irate and he dropped me off at the local police station.
The boys in blue laughed it off and drove me home.

After making me sit and have the obligatory paper cup of oversweet coffee, of course.
