Studies have shown that while a man will think about sex every 52 seconds, the subject tends to cross women's minds just once a day, the University of California psychiatrist says.
???
There goes "Sex and the City" stereotypes...
I don't know about other guys but I know it doesn't hit my brain every minute, or even every hour, but it is easily aroused when you see a lot of good-looking women in public or even on the telly. And if you happen to often be around or work with people you find appealing, well, of course you'll have thoughts...
Women do seem to enjoy a good chat, and tend to like guys who are good conversationalists. No big news there. I wouldn't have guessed 3 times as much though.
I guess it agrees with an old idea, that women tend to be more auditory and men more visual-minded.
Still, once a day vs once a minute? I doubt that. Men think about it up to a thousand times more often? Not a chance. |

Dr. Phil has been saying this for a long time whenever a couple comes in and lack of communication is cited as a problem. |

Women have always needed communication more, passing health tips, baby raising tips, etc. They have a greater burden. |

But it seems that men post three times more than women on Dave's. But perhaps there are many posters I think are men but are actually women. |

Very simple. The results of that survey are based on offline, real-life field studies, and this is the Internet. Men-type posters can talk openly and freely here without fear that the girls will Take It All The Wrong Way™ or Give Us The Silent Treatment™ or Make Us Sleep On The Sofa™. It's just a lot safer to be our naturally selfish, sexist, bigoted, lazy, never-tidying-up, never-cuddling-after-sex selves on Dave's. |

I can think of more than one female poster I would be happy to post-coitally cuddle with. Speak for yourself, prude. |

...and high heels tips and lipstick tips and miniskirt tips and makeup tips and tanning tips and waxing tips and Gucci bag tips and tampon tips and hair salon tips and nail salon tips and Sex and the City tips and... well, that's it. That's all they talk about.
(This has been a demonstration of the point I was malking in my previous post.) |

You know, I bet they're intentionally boycotting this thread just to disprove the survey's findings. |

According to this book ...
... men and women are approximately equal in the amount of talking that they do. They differ in the types of talking that they do a lot of. Women tend to do more private talking (e.g. telling their friends about their feelings), and men tend to do more public talking (e.g. telling bragging stories ["Yeah man, I was RIGHT THERE!!"]). |

And woman like lots of empathy in thier communications, or what is called "active listening", lots of head nodding, eye contact, and lots of soothing cooing sounds like "hmmm" and "aaah" and "uh huh" "I see" "yeah" "I know exactly what" and "oh my god I feel exactly the same way". You`ve gotta learn the formula for sucess... |

My dad says that's what saves most marriages. The husband's ability to fake it. He's a master at it. He can do it and the crossword at the same time. |
