I have heard horror stories that these schools do not fall under the jurisdiction of Korean law-for example they often skimp on your last month's salary for not bowing to the principal one time or inconsequential misdemeanours the like....Also even if it is written in your contract that if you complete the one year contract you will receive severance pay, they often do not comply with this. I work at a foreign language high school and am nearing the end of my contract hence I am becoming weary over these issues. Any previous experience with these concerns would be much appreciated!! |

They play by different rules re:curriculum and enrollment but are required to follow the law re: labor standards, etc. |
