Hi everyone. I could really do with some advice.

I've been applying to universities in Seoul for a while now and have so far got no where, despite having MA TESOL, experience, etc. Maybe the problem is that I'm not in Korea right now.

Anyway, I am getting to the point where I'm thinking of just taking a job a a Hakwon. I have a reasonable offer which I need to accept or decline soon.

But I've heard that many more universities will start advertising soon.

So what should I do? Give up and go to the Hakwon, or wait longer?

I really need your advice.

Thanks!

PS. Is a university job really so much better than a hakwon job with a higher salary?

Does your university job have to be in Seoul? Can't you just get a couple of years of experience somewhere else, and then look in Seoul? It's obviously up to you.

My coworker met a guy who is a university professor, and he doesn't even have an MA. It helped that he had several years of teaching experience here.

How much do professor here make, by the way?

Good luck

I was hoping to get one in Seoul.

Does anyone else have any opinions?

Shall I keep trying for a university job in Seoul (I have MA TESOL and experience, but I'm not in Korea right now), or give up and go the hagwon route??

Most universities will only hire folks with experience in Korea. Without at least 1 year here you are going to find it extremely difficult.
