So many kids have asked me what university I went to just to look at me puzzled when I tell them. "Of course you haven't heard of it", I should answer sarcasticaly," you only know about the best schools in the world: Seoul National University and other Korean places!". Seoul National University is a beacon of light for everything good and perfect in Korea.

Well beotches, here comes the truth
Seoul doesn't even rank in the top 100 Universities. http://ed.sjtu.edu.cn/rank/2006/ARWU2006TOP500list.htm

I'm sure you can find lots of other University ranking charts that could contradict this a bit. If you got one, please show me.

Im convinced that Seoul National University's greatness is a bit of a lie considering the other systems of education I've been exposed to here.

What are your thoughts? And what Universities did you go to? I went to UofT and graduated from the University of New Brunswick.

I went to Kingston University, UK. I can't remember what I studied but there was a lot of boozing and moderate drug consumption involved. Very Happy

Yeah brother, every year there are a bunch of different rankings of the world's unis. I think SNU has broken into the top 100 maybe once or twice. I'll give most Koreans I know credit though, they all seem to realize that Korean unis aren't that great.

I went to U of T as well. Usually busts into the top 30 of these lists. Not that I reallly care. I hated uni. Studied English, History, and Religion with a bunch of birkenstock wearing, artistic, vegetarian, I hate Mike Harris freaks Wink Just kiddin', I don't hate them that much. Just not my cup of tea.

I studied at U of T for only one semester, and graduated from UNB with a BA in Multimedia. Nothing that prestegious. Nothing compared to Seoul National University, the greatest place on Earth where all eduacated people must go. The temple of all knowlegde and greatness in Korea.

I'd be careful, UNB is nowhere on the Times top 200 list, whilst the institution you mock is at number 63. Not that I take too much out of these rankings, but I graduated from University of Queensland, number 45 on the list. University of Toronto is at number 27.

SNU can also be Singapore National University, which is pretty good from what I've heard.

SNU does not equal Singapore National University (Its NUS)

Times higher ed supplement (requires free registration).

http://www.thes.co.uk/statistics/international_comparisons/2006/top_unis.aspx?window_type=popup

National University of Singapore (and that is NUS for the anagramatically dyslexic) Number 19

SNU (Seoul National University) Number 63.
