I made an app in uni that acted as a notepad but had integration with java so coding was easy for remote compilation. I also snuck in a emailer that when you saved it would send me your copy of the code.
The best programmers are the lazy ones.. Unfortunatley it backfired on me and I email bombed my self and took down the school server. Proggy was very popular but it had *ahem* couple bugs in it. |

I wouldn't mention what I have done, because some people are still looking for the person who did it. A secret stays a secret when only one person knows it. |

A long time ago, in a galaxy so far away that the screens were all monochrome orange or green, I wrote a password trap. The station was still logged into my account but with this app running so it looked like a login screen. When you logged in it took and stored your username and password, then logged me out, and then the real login screen came on.
I didnt use the passwords, I just deposited the file to the uni lecturers folder with an explanation. I was called in for a chat, but he knew I was just doing it for entertainment. Took them a bit before they figured out how to make that too hard to do.

Geez ttompatz you are making me feel nostalgic for the days before the "September that never ended".
"All time since September 1993. One of the seasonal rhythms of the Usenet used to be the annual September influx of clueless newbies who, lacking any sense of netiquette, made a general nuisance of themselves. This coincided with people starting college, getting their first internet accounts, and plunging in without bothering to learn what was acceptable. These relatively small drafts of newbies could be assimilated within a few months. But in September 1993, AOL users became able to post to Usenet, nearly overwhelming the old-timers' capacity to acculturate them; to those who nostalgically recall the period before, this triggered an inexorable decline in the quality of discussions on newsgroups. Syn. eternal September. See also AOL!."
To answer the OP: nothing outside the realm of the comp. sci. dept. that was meant to be a prank on my fellow geek friends. |
