All the same, holy hell that was funny.
Weird Al has never had the recognition he deserves. |

Agreed.
It's hardcore taking the piss! .
But, crucially, the reason why it's so funny is because you KNOW all the hardcore Canucks will watch that and have veins popping out with rage. If I didn't live in Korea and hadn't met any Canadians, or read Daves, I wouldn't understand any of the references. |

I disagree, I think most would find it funny. Half the comedy in Canada is making fun of Canadians. |

heh heh
yeh, self-deprecation is definitely a canadian quality. most canucks would find that video hilarious...
vein-popping rage would moreso be the british response to an aspersion against their country, no?
tho i understand there are a lot of canadian hosers here in korea, so i know where SPIN is coming from.

spin, did you actually listen to the lyrics?
"...and they leave the house without packin' heat
never even bring their guns to the mall...
...sure they got their national health care
cheaper meds low crime rates and clean air...
...always hear the same kind of story
break their nose and they'll just say sorry
tell me what kind of freaks are that polite..."
sure, the songs got its cracks on the canuscks. but analyse it. it's a comment on america (and other gun-wielding societies) . i know you're a hard man, and maybe canada is much too soft for you, all those polite people walking aboot, but this song is actually PRAISING canada. |

Whatever. As if I'm going to get offended by song written by someone who stopped being funny when I was 10. In any case, I suspect he's making fun of the stereotypes (and Green Day's use of stereotypes in the song he parodies), and some Canadians's anti-Americanism, not Canadians themselves. |

Sounded more like he was making fun of Canadians, pure and simple. The guy says he's English, by the way. |

Yes, this "it's satire - OMG didn't you get it??" argument is getting out of hand now.
The song is taking the piss out of Canadians. |

Glad some others caught that. It was actually poking fun at Americans, but gotta admit the "monopoly money" was pretty funny. |

Yeah, the stuff quoted above, which positive stuff, plus the fact that the digs are all so cliched, tired, and lame, eg maple suryp, hockey, snow, shows that he`s actually poking fun at american stereoypes of canadians. |
