I am hoping to work in Korea from january onwards but i am currently in the position of not knowing which particular recruiter to go with.
There are many that seem keen to offer me a job but its knowing which ones are good and which ones a re bad.
Has anyone had experience with longbridge pacific as they seem to be well organised and professional but you never can tell. |

Heh, you're in a hard position here. Some of us have had good or bad experiences with recruiters, but we can'tr really say anything because:
1) Recruiters don't actually know the school typically, they get paid for the bountry. Therefore good or bad is a coin flip.
2) They pay the bills that keep Eslcafe.com running, saying shit about them here is not good for business.
3) While we may have experiences with one, you would have to PM for more info. |

| I just landed a killer public school job through NETKorea. I would highly recommend them. Fast efficient and honest. |

| TENET Korea aren't bad. Got me a job with 2.4m despite only one year experience (in a hagwon) in a nice public school that I can leave when I've finished teaching if I want to. Another bonus is that you get 400,000 as a settlement fee instead of the usual 300,000, and you get proper vacations when there's no camp. This winter there is a camp, but it's only for one week and you get paid extra for doing this - plus they actually "asked" me to do it, rather than forced me. |

How did you get 2.4? I thought the most that a level 1 teacher can get is 2.3. |

You get a 100 000 extra per moth if you teach out in the sticks. |

I was wondering if maybe you could elaborate just a little more on the breakdown your pay....... are you being paid 2.2 +200 000 for being in the sticks or 2.3 and +100 000? And was the 400 000 settlement fee stated in the contract? Sounds like you found yourself a nice job, congrats. |

Awhile ago I worked at one of the seasonal camps and had an excellent co-teacher. Recently found out he has become a recruiter (was fresh out of university when I knew him).
Anyway, I can't speak for the jobs he has, but he is a very honest and hardworking guy. I'd recommend him to anyone who is looking for someone who will truly try to help you find the right position for you. His English is good and he's trustworthy.
His name is YoHan; email is [email protected] |
