We all know how active X controls are handled by the Korean internet companies and how the average Korean computer user clicks on every damn one of them. Check this out:

Quote:
According to computer firms, Vista provided as RTM (released-to-manufacturing) blocks ActiveX controls, a base software needed for interactive online services, resulting in hitches in the use of major portals, games and banking sites.

Im perplexed that online services that everyone would expect to work in this new OS do not in fact work, an industry insider said.

Really? Perplexed? Why would they do such a thing?

Quote:
The Vista OS and its Internet Explorer 7 reads ActiveX, used for electronic certification systems of online banking here, as a major risk for online security, and puts a block into operation.

About time too.

active x can be very useful ... but like most computing technology, it has been exploited to hell. it's an executable that has the ability to modify your system without your permission and without your knowledge.

that's why vista has banned it by default.

i can't tell you the number of korean computers i've had to format because people install crap using active x and can't get rid of it. it's written into the registry, it's hidden in printer folders, it reinstalls itself ... evil and extremely unethical shit.

like i said, active x was a good idea ... but people are idiots. and we know what happens when those two little concepts are combined! Smile
