Yesterday Hansung airlines had a belly landing at CJU. They landed hard on their nose gear instead of their main gear, and the nose gear collapsed. They scraped along the runway for 300 meters, but there was no fire. Some passengers were injured. Apparently (sp?) the captain was a former Korean Air 747 captain who lost his job for causing an accident at KAL. Anyway, Hansung is a new start-up, and they only began operations this past Sept.
Has anyone flown Hansung or Jeju Air? Their business model is similar to Southwest Airlines, or any low-cost carrier, for that matter... |

Would those passengers happen to be Koreans standing in the aisle pushing to get off before the plane has even stopped and the seatbelts sign are turned off? |

I've said this before the normal laws of physics don't apply to Koreans. Especially ones with big heads. That's why no one uses child seats and everyone dances on the bus going down the free way. |

Worst people to travel with. I have traveled all over the world and by far Korean's tend to be the worst on a plane. I even got the pleasure of an emergancy landing in Anchorage when an ajoshi got drunk, tripped and whacked his head off the bathroom sink. Landing in Alaska with emergancy vehicles and armed soldiers on the runway! Good times! |

My heart sank when I saw a lady get up, baby in one arm and cell phone in the other hand, heading straight to the washroom moments before the plane had even touched ground in Incheon. I had never seen a flight attendant appear so worried in all the times I have flown. I guess she shamed the other passengers because it was the only flight that I have taken in Korea where people weren't getting up before the plane came to a complete halt.

I love watching Koreans on a Western Airline--I was on a plane about to land, Koreans grabbing their luggage already, flight attendant having asked them 6-7 times to please sit down, fight attendant disappears, plane suddenly starts climbing, captain on the radio "WE WILL NOT LAND UNTIL YOU PEOPLE REMAIN SEATED. AND WHEN WE LAND, WE WILL NOT OPEN THE DOORS UNTIL THE SEATBELT SIGN IS OFF." While plane is circling, the Assistant Pilot has to come out of the plane, and instruct the Koreans not to get up. The irritating part, is the Korean ajossi's that were largely responsible for doing this, just thought this was the funniest thing in the world, joking to each other etc., etc.
Plane lands. What happens? Of course, Koreans getting luggage out before seatbelt sign is off. |

Lucky for them that planes can't be stopped on a dime. |

Have you guys ever been on a plane when the pilots stop just short of the gate as they taxi- in, and then they move again and jam the brakes hard? I swear they do it on purpose just to knock over anyone who may have stood up prematurely.
If someone is running late for a connecting flight, I get the impatience, but if you have to wait for your luggage to be off-loaded, you might as well just sit back....
So no one has flown Jeju or Hansung? Apparently the flight attendants do magic tricks, face painting, and make balloon animals. I wouldn't mind getting my make-up done by a flight attendant- I could sleep that much later... |

Once I save up enough money I am starting an adults only airline and belive me the stewardess' and stewards will do more than magic tricks! |

But doesn't the staff on normal airlines often know about those in an extreme hurry, often before boarding, and subsequently help them get off the plane quickly? Here it's just a bumrush. |

When I worked for American, we were never informed of late pax. Rarely passengers would even mention to us that they had connecting flights they were running late for. I think the gate agents might try to seat people closer to the door if there is a short connection time, but if you are scheduled with a tight connection time, the airline is not responsible for helping you if you misconnect... However, if you are running late because the flight was delayed, then they have to reschedule you, if need be. |

No, and I definitely won't be flying with them now. The above sounds like my personal idea of hell. |
