Adding to the OP's question...

What do you need to bring with you to exchange money? How much can you exchange at once? Can you get it all in 100s?

The X-rate is in a sweet spot.

When I was turning Dollars into Won I went to the exchange places in Itaewon and got an awesome rate, at the time I got 952 and the going rate was actually 947 using the middle forex exchange price so that was really good. The best rate I could get from any bank was only 937 and I was exchanging over 35k so I would say prolly can get the best rate at one of those same places to go won to dollars. Im gonna assume they do that as well, doesnt make much sense if they dont.

Anyway good luck.

And yes I exchanged 35k US into 33.3k Won and I gave them 100 US bills and got like three massive bricks made up of 10,000 won bills and a couple more stacks. So I dont see there being any limit, at least nothing under 50k.

The U.S. dollar repeatedly fell below W930 during the session and only managed to recover to the mark at the last minute for a third session running on Monday. The greenback hit W927 in the day, the lowest in nine years, clawing back in the afternoon to close at W930.60. But experts believe it is only a matter of time that the dollar lets go of the W930 rung.

If you are exchanging only a few million won, it doesn't really matter all that much, but if you are exchanging a LOT of won, you might want to consider that article from today's Chosun Ilbo.

yes. Hold out a bit longer then go to KEB. You'll get a monster rate (say in a few weeks).
