After living here a year in Daegu, I had thought maybe it was not to be found at all in the country. But why? I asked, looking up to the sky?? WHY!?? I mean, Korea is RIGHT NEXT to friggin China, you would think they'd have a little Chinese food. Rolling Eyes

So, I've found a place (finally) that has Dim Sum, adding to the coolness factor that is Seoul.... Jackie's restaurant. Yeah, Jackie Chan's restaurant!! It has some good food, a tad expensive, but tasty... And I've already found two locations to go there: Coex (where there are two restaurants in different areas) and Apkujeong.

Jackie's kitchen is not bad, but it certainly lacks many of the usual Dim Sum items, including my favorite, sticky rice Lo Mai Gai (a sticky ball of rice with meat and veggies in it, an amazing sauce, all wrapped in a lotus leaf). It only seems to have spring rolls and dumplings... there is usually more to it than that. I also miss the Chinese style of "carts" going every which way.

If anyone knows of a good Chinese area of Seoul, or somewhere I can get my hands on (or chopsticks on, if I am patient enough), pls share the info!

For those who haven't discovered the pure amazingness of Dim Sum:

Since I am from Vancouver, I kinda grew up with it. Will be gorging on it (almost entirely) when I'm in Hong Kong. Cool

And especially, if anyone has seen the rice (called Lo Mai Gai) in Seoul, contact me or reply here!!!

Haven't been yet, but here are heaps of other places in Seoul that do it - check out the high-end hotels that have Chinese restaurants.
