well I have finally filled my new 300 gb hard drive with movies and TV and still want more. I am going home (NZ) soon, so i thought i would get a divx player with a 300gb hard drive inside it. (stupid NZ 4gb per month download limit).

Can anyone recommend a good brand or features etc. I have been looking on the net and most average around 200,000. Will probably go into yongsan to get it however.

Cheers

Try searching on gmarket.co.kr for a list of DIVX/MPG HD based players. Most of them do the job, its just your requirement and budget that you would need to think about. For some people they need access to a connected or wireless network, for others they need TV connectivity.

I have one and I am happy with it because :

- it has an LCD display, I don't need to use a TV to playback music
- it supports WM9 and HD videos
- it takes 3.5" hard disks (capacity of 500GB)
- it has a built-in fan to cool the hard disk (not really necessary but its handy in certain warm conditions)
- it can be connected to a network like another computer and play movies from there (ie. act as an interface between computer and TV)
- USB devices can be connected, such as an external HD or mp3 player
- it has a remote, extremely convenient as I'm a couch potato
- it supports PAL/NTSC, has a million languages on it and plays 1080i/p
- it is reasonably compact, not large like a DVD player

Having said that, I am seriously eyeing the XBOX360 or PS3 as the next upgrade. They have a far better user interface.
