Something wonky is going on with the burner on my laptop. I can burn dvd-r(s) with no problem but whenever I try to burn a CD-R(music), it gets to around 20% complete before it gives me an error message and it stops. I have no idea why this is happening. Can anyone help?

I know this is very vague and I can provide details if I know what to look for. I'm still learning a lot about computers so please be patient! Thanks.

I do know these details if they mean anything. I have a:

- Matshi ta(it's actually one word but it got beeped out...jeez) DVD-RAM UJ-831S
- AY2126T RSQ204J SCSI CdROM Device
- Fujitsu MHU2100AT

I thought it was the software initially but I downloaded another program and the same problem occurred.

I don't think it's the CD either because I've used this brand before without any problems. I actually burned two CD-Rs recently with this brand(photos, not music) before it all crapped out on me. Actually, come to think of it, I don't think I've ever burned a CD-R with music before on my laptop(been using my MP 3).

Hello,

We'd be more than happy to help. Could you please tell us what exactly does the error say? It could be the buffer underrun problem causing you problems, could be a faulty drive. Please give us the information so that we may help you.

Ralph
