I was introducing a Korean friend to torrents last night. We did a test run on a torrent and I was blown away by his upload speed. We hit 1.4MB/s up (1400kB/s) not sure if that was the ceiling or not. Couldn't find a good speed test site to verify it. He's on Powercom.
I'm just using KT lite and have a pathetic 60kB/s upload.
What's your upload speed and what is your provider?
Remember that one byte = 8 bits. A kilobyte should be written kB and kilobits should be written as kb.

I've had individual torrents upload at 200kb/s and the total speed has hit about 1.2mb/s.

My top individual torrent upload speed was 5.8mb/s and total including all torrents was 6.6mb/s
And surfing was not slow at all while I maintained these speeds.
I seem to average around 800kb/s to 1.2/mb/s upload and download whenever I run torrents.

You really love bitmetv, huh?
Have to say I'm pretty stunned by the upload speeds Korea has.. uploading at up to 8MB/s is simply insane. Had no idea that sort of connection speed was available to the general public. Recently, I've been taking the laptop to school and uploading from there were I can get uploads into the hundreds of kB/s. Only problem is the firewall/router thing which affects connectivity.
Damn, wish I wish I didn't live in the sticks.

Yes, I do, in my opinion it is the best tracker for tv shows on the net.
Downloaded the first 4 episodes of daybreak in 2.5 minutes. That is pretty damn good. |
