I believe sexuality runs along a continuum, a person being neither 100% gay nor straight. My question for both men and women on this board is this: "Have you ever had a homosexual encounter?" If so, please describe in as much detail as you are comfortable with.

Yeah, I tried that, but for some reason the poll options only allowed three choices.

I don't agree!
I also believe that sexuality runs along a continuum from heterosexual to homosexual, but at either end of the spectrum there are people who are 100%.
I am 100% homosexual. The idea of myself engaging in sex with a woman no matter how beautiful she is, repells me (that is why I can understand why some straight people find the idea of gay sex repellent).
One time drinking with friends we played this game 'Who would you do?'
Straight people had to name one person of the same sex they would choose to sleep with if they had to and gay people someone of the opposite sex. I honestly could not think of a single woman to choose. I named someone simply so as not to be a spoilsport.
I believe my brother and sister are 100% heterosexual...I have a very close relationship with them that so I think they would have honestly told me if it were otherwise. I also have friends who I believe are 100% straight, others I believe are 100 gay (by believe I mean I believe them when they tell me this). I do have friends as well who I believe are somewhere in between the two ends of the spectrum.
(Also I think it's easier for predominantly straight women to admit to having gay tendencies than it is for predominantly straight men so I'm not sure how good your feedback is going to be) |

Is this myth really common among the gay community? That a person can be "a bit gay". And that if that little bit of homosexuality were to be encouraged then the person might become a full on Richard Simmons!!! I think that might be gay men just letting their wishes lead their brains.
In saying that, I am aware of bi-sexuals..... but I really don't understand them. How can you like sex with both sexes? |

It's also common amongst psychiatrists.

I've never gone past 1st base with a girl, and it's never been on my to-do list.
I'll agree with the continuum theory, but I think it's likely that people will tend to *fall in love* with one gender or the other. People are weird, and will get turned on by weird things, like furry costumes, cool breezes, pretty toes, etc. Why not both males and females? |

Personally, I refuse to believe in the concept of "straight", "gay" or "bi", or even a continunum theory. Those are all just categorizations that we apply to ourelves to characterize who we are and seperate us from the other. Why can we not just say we are attracted to blondes, or asians, or fitness. I mean, is that not simialr to saying attraction to male, female, or mix?
Anyway, to answer the question, I will give the same response as James Dean when asked.: "Life is too short to walk around with one hand tied behind your back." |
