| I'm looking to head to Beijing over the Christmas long weekend(23rd-26th, flying out of Incheon). What is a reasonable price for a flight and how long is it? What should I make sure to do during my short vacation? Any advice on other countries to see during a 3-4 day break? Thanks a lot |

You better look for seats first.... Virtually EVERYTHING for those dates is sold out. You may be able to get something from a waitlist or perhaps one of the Chinese airlines (Air China?).
Normal (non-peak) flights are around 500k won for economy seats and it is a 90 minute flight.
If you get there the things to see are the temple to heaven, forbidden city and great wall. Shopping at the silk market (next to the temple to heaven) can be a fun way to kill a few hours and there is the flea market down in the south east part of the city (name eludes me at the moment). |

take a boat instead to tianjin, and then a bus to beijing (takes two or three hours). it will eat into your trip but the boat is good fun and comfortable.
120,000 and you can get the visa on the boat. 26 hours to get there. |

Do you really suggest taking the boat on a 4 day trip? Did you read the OP? |

I did the exact same thing last year. Book an airtel trip through a Korean travel agent. I think I used Tourexpress. It was about 400, 000 total for my girlfriend and I.
Check other airports too, because there are some small ones that run cheap flights to China. |

yes, i read the OP, and yes, i do suggest taking the boat. that said, i might reconsider going to BJ, and instead go to Dalian or Qingdao. 16 hour boat ride and you arrive in the morning in the heart of the city. Of course there isn't the Great Wall or the Forbidden City to see in either place, but they are, overall, nicer cities. |
