Does anyone on here have a specific dress code that they must adhere to? I have been told that jeans are fine where I'm going...

For "kiddie-hagwons", jeans are usually fine. In summer, some will even allow you to wear shorts if they cover your knees. But this is because these schools generally view you as more of an entertainer employed to keep the kids happy, rather than a professional teacher. Adult hagwons and public schools generally insist on smarter attire (dark trousers and a shirt will usually suffice).

Yay!!! "Let me entertain you".....

That sounded rather flip of me. I really am looking forward to teaching these children if I'm given the chance. I hope to learn a lot more from them than I could ever teach them as well.

Hopefully you will be able to. Just try to learn what you can from this forum and you'll be better prepared for what you may face. You seem to be doing a lot of research and are asking questions so I think and hope you'll be fine. If you don't mind meeting at a bar downtown, I'd be happy to introduce you to other teachers working in Hongseong after you arrive.

How many times has this been done? Use the search engine.

Oh, btw, what you heard is in fact probably bad news if you had hopes of being a real teacher.

Butlerian - I would love to meet up with you when I get there. Having someone to introduce me around would SOOOO ease some of my worries.
Thank you!!!
