Today before class I noticed that several of my grade 3 MS students had come up with a note-passing device I've never seen at school before. Ironically, or maybe not, the only other place I've seen such a thing used was in a movie set in a women's prison. The take a ring made of beads that won't clank when it hits the floor, tie a piece of thread around it, and can throw it three or four metres to their friend or the floor beside her when the teacher isn't looking. Then the next time the teacher isn't looking the friend can insert a rolled note into the ring. When the teacher isn't looking again she can reel in the line and collect her note.
I must be either very sharp or very clueless because at least I've never seen them try it when I'm teaching. |
