|
|
Apparently, my public school does not seem to know anything about the national pension payments. It is not in my contract, however I thought that since this is a public school, and since they are required to enroll me in this, I thought it would get done.
Apparently, this is not the case. I don't wish to jump the gun, but...........I want that pension. It is an advantage, working a public school, recieving your pension a short time after you are done. But, if they are going to play dumb about this, then I am gonna leave.
Any advice?
cheers.

| They know about I'm pretty sure. Just tell them to do it or you will leave. |

I think you may be jumping the gun.
Are you teaching the public school or the afterschool program?
If you are in the public school system do you have your ARC yet?
If yes, do you have your medical booklet yet?
If yes, then point them to:
http://www.nps4u.or.kr/eng/g-index.html
or call 1355 and they can talk to the pension service directly.
I would be seriously surprised if you are a public school (not afterschool) teacher and the local office of education wouldn't/didn't enroll you.
If you are in an afterschool program then you are not the responsibility oif the school and the hakwon that is subcontracting you to the school is cheating and that is nothing new. |

| I have a sneaky suspicion that, although I am paying pension to my hagwon, they are not paying it. Would it be worth it to check with the pension office before asking the school if they are paying it and causing stress? Or could they even tell me anything? Any help would be appreciated. |

Yes you can check with the pension office. I you have been paying it for a while you should have got a statement last Sept.
Have a pay stub or other proof that pension was deducted if you have some problems and they will be very helpful. |

I've been paying for 5 months... not enough to know yet if the school is doing the same.
And what if the school doesn't want to give receipt of the pension taken off? They are not so keen on giving pay stubs and I've had this "discussion" before with them... |
