What I mean by that is celebrity wise, comic book character wise, and etc. Just some Korean idols/pop culture.

the guys in my class seem to love wrestlers, they talk about "Big Show" and chokeslams a lot. Also, of course Pak Jisung (sp?) is popular for soccer. Girls like Super Junior.

Hell though I had students writing postcards last week...I'd say about 20% of 'em wrote to Starcraft characters. Ever read a letter to a "Dark Templar"? I had to read 5 heh.

I didn't think King Sejong invented Hangul, I thought he just tweaked the alphabets to make it for Korea. I aways thought Hangul already existed considering only the wealthy and well educated knew Chinese letters, and the poorer or regular people had a similar alphabet system already.
Could be wrong.

Nope it's phonemetic alphabet for Korean. Though I doubt he invented it by himself, if you hit a Korean's knee they will tell you King Sejong invented Hangeul.

The King hired scholars to "invent" it.
