I have seen a few threads that deal with the qualifications needed to get certain jobs., but none that are very specific. I will be starting my job search very very soon and was wondering if anybody could give me any advice on what I should ask for, what I am worth. Okay here goes, I have a BA, major is Psychology and minor is English, TESOL certificate with specialties in grammar and teaching young children, and I have taught ESL privately full time for two years. I just wanna make sure that I don't end up signing a contract that would be majorly ripping me off. I would really appreciate any and all information/advice that anybody can give me.
Thanks

My opinion is that you can demand more then a first time teacher. You should be able to get about 100,000 to 300,000 won more per month then a first timer. As to if you can get a better job - University or College well you qualifications are a it a dime a dozen. Through you tesol cert makes you a it more valuable.

Thanks Skippy!
The advice on income was one of the things I was looking for. As to a uni job, I am not really interested in one right now. I think actually getting my feet wet in a *gasp* hagwon is proabably best. |
