The Washington Post has used editorials to address the issue, and it's been an issue of great debate among liberals around the world: Is George W Bush the worst president in history American history?
Now I don't actually want to discuss that topic. I think what would make a more intellectually interesting discussion is: if George W Bush isn't the worst president in American history, then who of the first 42 presidents(Grover Cleveland was a BIG man so he can count as two) was the worst president in American history???
This thread obviously caters to Yanks and history majors, but I think anyone can respond.
I hereby nominate Warren Harding. Biggest issue in my mind with Harding is the League of Nations issues, but a scnadal plagued administration also comes to my mind. |

Without a doubt, I think FDR. He increased the size of the federal government and started the pace for the monstrosity we see today. Also, purposely getting the U.S. involved in WWII by provoking Japan would be enough to get my vote. Get the country out of the Depression my ass. |

The guy that's buried in Grant's tomb made a mess of things.
All kinds of RR $$ floating around.
Southern Reconstruction, carpet bagging.

Ford and Carter ranked equally in that acticle.
That would make for a nice Compare and contrast essay.
