And they have the resources to listen to everyones converstions and record them all, so everything you ever say when you have a cell phone with you is instantly part of the FBIs permanent record.
Anything you say can be used against you at anytime.
The time does not get charged to your minutes.

So does this mean that we no longer have to turn our phones off on the plane as they are all transmitting anyway?
Of course not.

The turning off the phone regulation is an FCC not an FAA rule.
The purpose is not the prevention of "interference" with equipment.
It is to prevent on from aquiring cell time wiht out a fee.

Listen to your flight attendants announcement when travelling he/she will announce it as an FCC regulation.

| Shouldn't this be filed under "Delusion of Grandeur"? Who are you that the FBI would be listening in? |

That's your source?

| FCC rules currently ban cell phone use after a plane has taken off because of potential interference to cellular phone networks on the ground. In addition, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has rules prohibiting in-flight cell phone use because of potential interference to navigation and aircraft systems. |

That explains why the Feds seem to be always one step ahead of me.
The thing is though, I don't have a cell phone.
What are your thoughts Mulder? |

Try it sometime make a call from 30K feet see if you get charged for the minutes. Trust me it works. It does not interfer with the aviation gear.

Why would making a call from 30K feet subvert the billing system? Do you have a source for your information?
Most likely, it won't interfere with the aviation electronics, but do you want to take that chance?
Regardless, it is an FAA rule. |

Listening to her phone calls, and listening to a phone NOT making calls are two very different things.....
