This post is in response to some recent threads about peoples monetary habits.

My last contract year here saw me engage in a new budget in an effort to save more money.

The contract year before, I was in a mode of constantly going out/consuming/ drinking/purchasing. Consequently, I saved less than I had hoped for. However, it was a memorable time.

So items/foodstuffs that I had traditionally regarded as 'everyday' or 'par for the course', turned into what I would classify as, 'luxury items' that I would buy or consume on a seldom basis.

So, trips to department stores to purchase clothes, frequent visits to Starbucks and imported beer were deleted. I only did them very occassionally.

So I am curious, what activities or products does your budget regard as luxury?
