For those of you who had an apartment provided to you by your schools, what is in your apartment?
What size bed, how many square feet about, air conditioning, balcony/deck, studio, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, washer, dishwasher, tv, dvd player, vcr, and what floor are you on?

Is that enough questions....mmmm, and what color are your socks?

My appartments (before we bought our own here) typically had:

2 bedrooms (except for the first two years here).
All appliances (washer, stove, fridge....) except for a clothes drier and dishwasher.

I got double beds from my second appartment on (often by request).

AC in all but the first one.

Balcony...well that is pretty standard....in my case anyway.

TV, DVD (or VCR back in 1997).

I lived on many different floors over the past 9 years...I only lived on the 1st floor once (2001).

My current place is higher up with an ocean view so....can't complain..we bought it a couple of years ago.

I was very disappointed with my apartment when I arrived in Korea, probably because I had such high hopes for my new home.

Like a lot of other teachers in Korea, I'm living in a one-room apartment (studio/bedsit) with a bathroom (with wash basin, toilet and shower), a kitchen (with fridge, freezer, washing machine, stove and sink), and a living space (with double bed, wardrobe, clothes airer, table, chair, 32" TV with cable, PC with broadband internet) and that's about all.

As soon as I get my first paycheck, I'm getting straight down to E-Mart to buy a new rug and something comfortable to sit on. I'd love to buy a nice, big settee, but I'll wait and see what the prices are first.

You forgot to tell me about your socks!!!!
Laughing
My concern is that I want a balcony and I want to bring sheets from home so I was wondering what size bed most people get the first time. Single! Shocked
I have already signed a contract, I guess it is too late to try to get a double or queen sized bed huh?

My place is pretty big. Living area/kitchenette, two bedrooms, bathroom, and balcony area. I'm on the 14th floor, so it gets kind of windy and cold, but I'm right on the outskirts of town, so the view is nice. Heat, but no AC.

When I moved in I had: a kitchen table (which I have turned into my desk) with two chairs, phone, fan, bed, TV and TV stand, dresser/closet thing, big unwieldy vacuum, washing machine, fridge (no freezer), gas range, and hot plate. My bathroom has a bathtub, which I'm happy about.

The only thing I really wish I had was a microwave, and maybe a comfy chair or something, but I might buy those things for myself once I'm done spending money for the Christmas season.

Oh, and my socks are black with skulls on them. Very Happy

My place is about the same as you described, but you would not believe what English Channel will put you in! No wonder the guy before split without his check ( he worked all month for nothing, left around the end of the month to take a new job in the Middle East, veteran teacher had worked for EC for almost a year)

The place was unbelievable. Officetel. Dirty. Nothing in the room but a bed. Gas stove....... Bedding, 60,000Won your expense. No TV, VCR, no help with internet or land line hook up. The air conditioning barely kept it warm ( not cool) , no wonder the guy left because a few weeks earlier it was ...ing hot in Korea. The guys I met before I left were nice guys, but came from an impoverished situation, had to put up with it. I didnt. Got my old job back.
