Dec. 8th is coming, the anniversary of John Lennon's tragic death. Also nearing Christmas and I think we'd all be better if in some small way, we can think more often in the vein of the letter Yoko Ono printed in the N.Y.Times recently. She calls for more thought on "the suffering" of others and for a day, Dec. 8th of forgiveness. It's an immensely Merry Christmas message of goodwill and that the strong should help the weak - in peace and love. The essence of "charity", that word of love.
Lennon wrote this song, at the end of the Vietnam War. Let's hope others can sing it soon. Its message rings still....

| Lennon was the greatest songwriter of the 20th Century (along with Dylan). I remember the day he died back in grade 10. What a sad day that was. Hard to believe it's been 26 years! |
