				| My sister is coming to visit over Christmas and we're planning to stay in Seoul for a few days. I'd like to make a reservation for her for at least the first night, since I won't be able to get up there until the day after she arrives. I've found a few decent looking places online, but I don't know anything about what areas in Seoul are convenient for touristy stuff (though from all I've heard, I don't want to be in Itaewon). We're not really into a lot of partying, so access to nightlife isn't essential.
So which of the following areas would be best?
 1. Ulchiro 2-ga, Chung-gu
 2. Jugyo-dong, Jung-gu
 3. Namsandong 2-ga, Chung-gu
 4. Doneu-dong, Chongro-gu

Or if anyone has any recommendations for specific yeogwans, I'd appreciate any help!

 Thanks!

				| Depends on how much you want to pay, but there are 2 decent yogwans in Jong-kag, which is within walking distance of Gyeongbokgung Palace.
Take the subway to Jong-kak. Go out the Kangwamoon (Ganghwamun)(sp) exit (also the Kyobo bookstore exit). Walk straight down the street toward the convenience store (GS?), look for English Plus bookstore on your right. Turn right on the first small street (almost an alley) past English Plus. Look for the Seoul Hotel on your right. This place seems nice but charges about 78,000 a night. As you face the Seoul hotel, look to your right, and you'll see the sign for a yogwan. 40,000 for 2 people. The woman speaks no English, but she's really nice.

If you want an English speaking yogwan owner, continue down the street (alley) and keep looking on your left for a TINY TINY street and you'll see a sign for a motel. The owner speaks English and Japanese. 35,000 for a small room and 40,000 for a larger one.

I should get credit for this one, we told you about it like 6 years ago when we worked with you. we found it 10 years ago on our first weekend we came to Seoul we stayed at the Seoul Hotel and wanted a cheaper place. The name of the place is the Dong-il and the women are super. I put a number of US soccer team fans there during world cup, they still rave about their time at the Dong-il Havent seen them since we moved to Seoul 3 years ago. Hope they are doing well.

Its perhaps one of the better bargains in Seoul for accomadation

				| Nope! I stayed at the 2nd one (with the English speaking guy) the first time I went to Seoul alone back in 1996!! The only reason I know about the other one is because I stayed there with my Korean friend back in February.
But if you want credit, I'll give it to you!!
