I saw a rather pricey wooden chess set at Bandi and Luni's the other day, but really don't need or want anything other than plastic and cardboard.
Any ideas about where I might go?

Try the toy department of your local department store (like E-mart or home plus) or the neighborhood toy shop.
I got mine, plastic men and folding board for about 6k. |
