Have noticed purple green coloured cabagge type plants that thrive in the winter. They are in vases or pots or whatever on the sides of the streets in most towns and cities. Anyone know what they are?

Yup. It's called 'ornamental kale'. Grows well in cool climates and is edible. Beautiful isn't it?
