Hi...
Anyone interested in forming a writer's group. I write fiction...working on a crime fiction novel. Can meet once a month and critique or even twice a month..have lunch or dinner and get together ... |

There's a bunch of people doing NANO on the off topic forum. They may or may not be involved in a writing group. I for one use online writers' groups only. |

Hi,
Funny that you should post on this...
I have been looking for a writer's group in/around Seoul. I had one at home, and like the old fashioned idea of getting together with folks and showing them stories. Myself, I have a lot of creativity but could use the discipline/inherent deadline of a group. I mostly write fiction (short stories/novellas) with a female flavor, but recently had an essay published in the USA. I have a puppy to walk, so I usually only leave Seoul on the weekends...
Let me knowif you are interested in sharing writing; I may be able to recruit one more guy that I know... |

I wrote a novel last year. The forth time I wrote it actually. I think its perfect now. I hope to self-publish it one day. I plan to save money and one day, back in the States, shop it around. I had a literary agent one time, did the whole routine. I've considered publishing it here and shopping it around to the foreign English-reading population. Think thats a kooky idea? Anyone? |

www.lulu.com is very very cheap and easy to do if you want to self-publish. |

If there's any writer's groups in Busan, now's the time to speak up, because I'm very interested. |

I'm interested because I need some sort of deadline to keep me moving. I would also be interested in improving my work. I live in Seoul. |

Self-publishing , is not the way to go according to Barnes and Noble in NY offices and a few other competent sources.
Unless it is a fantastic book and later picked up by a publisher, it is hard to market your own across country, etc. not taken as serious..
Is anyone up for getting together in Seoul on Saturday, 16 Dec in the afternoon for a meet...I am near the Mokdong area myself..but would meet part way...list some suggestions for places and alternative times...If Sunday the 17th is better, I am up for that..
bring a few pages to share and we can each give our thoughts on the writing..
peg
email addys sent to me in pms would be great |

Yeah, I know that "flavor"...
I've always liked the generalization, 'cause I think it's true: men prefer external action, women emotional nuance. If there were rampaging velociraptors in You've Got Mail, worlds may have collided... |
