Hey all,
been trying to find out a bit about this football (soccer) club but their website is a bit out of date. When does the season start, etc?

Seoul lost to Seongnam (who are champions) in the 2006 playoffs recently, I think the 2007 season starts in early March.
I go quite a bit, 6000 won for a ticket, they play at the World Cup Stadium on line 6, go for the North Stand if you like atmosphere as that's where the singers go.
The best English website I've found for K Football is http://www.rokfootball.com/ |

| Thanks very much. March it is. 6,000 is pretty reasonable for live footy too! |

Can you buy beer at footy matches here?
I've been told you can't as an anti-hooliganism measure, but that people smuggle in soj' anyways.
As if some somebody that's been drinking soj' all day is going to be all sugar and sunshine... |

You can buy beer or bring whatever you want to drink. I've seen supporters passing around a box of wine and drinking from the tap. There is no hooliganism here. Most of the hard-core supporters are middle-class 20-somethings who will be delighted to see a waygook coming to cheer with them. |

Seongnam play at tancheon stadium. It's just across the river. West of Yatap station. Ten minute walk.
FC Seoul have the best cheer squad by far of the teams I've seen so far. |

Suwon Bluewings is another club with very decent fans. Most matches are well attended there as well.
There is only one club match left this season. On the 15th at 7:20 pm Jeonbuk will play Auckland City (New Zealand) (in Tokyo) to decide who will get the wooden spoon in the FIFA Club World Cup.
The semis are:
Al Ahly (EGY) - Internacional de Porto Alegre (BRA) (13 Dec, 7:20)
America (MEX) - FC Barcelona (ESP) (14 Dec, 7:20)
Korea will play Iraq tonight at 10pm in semi-finals of the Asian Games as well. However, this tournament has the status similar to the Olympic competition (u-23 with three overage players allowed) so while the fans in Korea might make a lot of noise about this match, it is not a competition taken seriously by most nations (even Asian ones: Saudi Arabia didnt even enter).
But yeah, if its going to matches you want, you will have to wait until March although there is the K3 Arisu League (which is likely in the near future to form the nucleus of a nationwide Division Three (K3)).

Rokfootball has experienced technical difficulties recently, but they are beginning to catch-up. |
