Im new to this whole discourse here (I dont live in Korea, but I am contemplating making the jump) so please forgive my ignorance...
In any event, do you seasoned Korea hands refer to one-on-one, informal tutoring as "privates"? From what Ive read on this board they are a quite illegal, yes?
Okay, but what about part-time work? I am considering taking a job that doesnt require a ton of work (something like 12 contact hours). Should I accept it, I was hoping to do some work on the side, some part-time work, perhaps teaching at another university or Hagwon--is this possible (in the legal sense)?

| With permission from your employer and the proper immigration paperwork filled out it is legal and possible to work at a second location. |

But it is better to go through the "pain" of getting permission instead of the "pain" of getting busted and deported don't you think?  |

I don't know about that......but it depends what your goals are. You can always get work on the side, there is huge demand for privates, it depends if you want to risk it doing them. I'd say get a normal FT job, but that's just one voice. |

Some universities specifially say in the contract that you cannot work at another university. You might be able to teach at a camp in the summer but it will probably be difficult to work at two universities at once. |
