And vegetarians and vegans: I don't *beep* with your threads so don't *beep* with mine.
Went to Ipanema yesterday for the first time in years and years and had the buffet where they keep bringing skewered meat to the table. It wasn't as good as I remembered, but for all-you-can eat at 17,000 how much could I really expect?
But it got me to thinking, as a hard-core carnivore whose intake of food is around 70% meat (and 25% coffee and chocolate) I really should know about really really good meat places. Good Korean meat places are a dime a dozen (what with this being Korea and all), but do you know any places where there's good meat that's not mainstream? |

Do you know that you can enjoy healthy, nutritious and very tasty meals that are entirely meatless? Do you know of the cruelty and the waste of resources caused by the slaughter and consumption of meat? Are you aware that meat-eating on a global scale is ultimately unsustainable and that big corporations which you are helping to support are...
I never liked Ipanema, and I mean never. Not even when 17,000 won was almost worth 17,000 won. They were always a distant, embarrassing second to Rio Valley (25,000 won initially, and later 35,000 won IIRC) near COEX. The difference between the two churrascarias was staggering indeed, and I pity any foreigner in Korea, meat-eater or vegetarian, who never ate at Rio Valley before they closed. Off-the-chart good it was. After eating there, no other place in Korea is worth mentioning. |

P.S. In fairness to the veggies, I've never once seen a meat thread get hijacked by a veggie. Dogmeat threads get hijacked by veggies and non-veggies however, and veggie threads get hijacked by flesh-eaters. Veggies often come across the more reasonable parties on my beloved Daves. |

i'm sure you already know about carne station.
here are some cheaper options:
there's this place in kangnam near the kyobo tower. It's called 대박집. They got this really really thinly sliced samgyupsal (think shabu shabu) for 1500won per serving. It's good for anju when you don't really wanna get full, but still wanna eat meat.
there's this other place in kangnam, i forget the name. It's basically a ghetto carne station. It's kinda hidden. All you can eat for 7000won. They got samgyupsal, dweji kalbi, pulgogi, and gochujang samkyupsal. The samgyupsal is so-so but the dweji kalbi is pretty good. |

Fogo e Brasa Brazilian
Guide Rating - 2 licks and a dogbone

The Bottom Line
It's simple to figure out what this meal will cost, since it is a fixed price. When we visited Fogo e Brasa, salad bar only was $17, just the Rodizio with side dishes (no salad bar) was $23, and all-you-can-eat of everything was $28 per person. Beverages not included. Desserts were $5 each. The lunch price for the 'whole shebang' (not including beverages and dessert) was $18. (Prices subject to change without notice.) |

hmm, gonna have to look for that impanema joint, got any girls from there (sorry, frank sinatra joke). Where is it exactly?
I don't know if it can hope to beat Carne station, not only do you get all you can eat meat, not only is it cooked yourself (for that ultra-rare goodness, that so many people are afraid of now), but you also get all you can drink liquor and beer. And I do mean top shelf stuff. There are a couple of those in town, one in apujeong and one in hong-dae. |

| Cab't recommend Ipanema. Not even at the lunch prices. Only one of 6 to 8 meats was anywhere near excellent. |

Mmmm Meat!
In Korean class today we created school clubs. One group created a meat lovers club! I of course created a coffee lovers club. Meat and Coffee, doesn't get much better. |

Same goes for Carne Station, EFLtrainer.
Whilst CS is outstanding for a right, royal piss-up and feast, in terms of quality of the flesh on offer, its scraping the barrel.
CSs meat is frozen, thus tasteless. |
