hello,

okay i'm in korea about to go about changing jobs ( uggg) and I need to get passport photos to begin my new visa processing.
MY question is: where can I go to get passport pictures in Korea?? Do they take them at Homeplus or Emart??

also- how many do I need for visa processing?

thanks!

You need to go to a photo studio to take passport photos BUT homeplus and emart etc. all have photo processing shops, and I *think* they also take passport photos, so you can give it a try. What I mean to say is that there aer no passport photograph-taking kiosks here in Korea like they do back home (in the UK, and i assume in N. America, too).

Not sure how long it takes to process a visa.. cos I am here on a family visa..

You can get them done at E-mart or HomePlus but you can also use the photobooth machines in the subway for visa application photos.

You need 4 for the schools initial application, 1 for the visa run and 2 for your ARC application.

You can also (if you have a digital camera, computer and printer available) take your own photos and print them on photopaper. 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm.

Head and shoulders, neutral expression, light background.

Actually I have seen one such machine at Jamsil subway station. Otherwise, as tzechuk says, your best bet are the photostudios. However, you may not recognise yourself in the photos you get back as they tend to make "alterations" at no extra charge. Laughing

I used the subway station thing. It cost 5,000 won for a sheet of four photos. When I signed my contract and handed over my documents, they cut off two of them and never said anything else about it. So I assume they'll work just fine.

Go to the basement of the immigration office in Seoul, it has a photo machine in the snack shop.
