SO, I pulled a runner a while back, and I'm trying to get back in. The original visa has expired, I'm cool with the recruiter who got me the job, and I already have my plane ticket. The thing is that I am unbelievably nervous, as I did pull a runner.
Facts: I owed the school no money (no flight money, no bills, none of that), I worked for them for 7 months before getting fed up with the abuse of me and the students, I left "out of the blue" not after a fight.
Anyway, the question is, is there ANY way to find out if you are on the blacklist? Does anyone know of anyone who was blacklisted? HAs anyone themselves come back from a runner like all was fine? |

IF you were issued a visa confirmation number and have a new E2 then you are good to go / no worries.
If you are coming on a tourist visa and going to work until your visa run, then Ghod only knows but you are probably good to go.
The only way to check with immigration is to apply for a visa and get approved or declined. |

that's what I was afraid of as I'm coming on a tourist visa. Super nerve wracking. although, I suppose worst case is that they make me buy a plane ticket elsewhere. |

Cant you get your recruiter to phone the embassy and ask them something along the lines of....."This guy is looking for a job, I have a job available, can he get a visa or is he blacklisted?" |

Tell your old recruiter you will buy him a beer if he makes a few calls to Immigration tomorrow. |

you don't have an ARC if you left, you have to turn that in.
Has anyone ever actually heard of someone being denied entry. |

Yes, but not often and I personally do not know of anyone who was labeled "personna non grata" and denied entry by immigration for doing a runner.
I do however know people who were denied work visas for doing a runner.
I do not know what was in their respective immigration files so cannot with any certainty tell you why their work visa was denied.

I could deal with not having a work visa. 30 days to leave isn't too bad, heck, you can make enough for a plane ticket, and hook up another job in that time. Just, being told to get out NOW, or being hauled off to the pokey seems rough. |

No.
Also though---you will certainly be allowed in as a tourist even if you are doomerd as far as the E-2 goes. No worries that way. |

You might want to look at this post a bit closely Demonicat. I think it is a message or something. |
