What banks take international ATM cards? My boyfriend went around to about 6 in our neighborhood, and could not withdraw money from any of them. Do we have to mecca to Itaewon to accomplish this task? |

Most subway stations on the Seoul system have at least one ATM that accepts international cards.
Check and see if there is a "NICE" brand ATM in your local subway station. They are OK to use (they are actually owned by the Korean credit reporting agency) and they usually take international cards. They have lots of international logos posted on them.
Also lots of the Family marts, GS-25 and 7-11's have machines that accept international cards as well. |

I tried many of those ATM machines, but my cards are not accepted.
Eventhough we have matching symbols ... |

Usually, you have to look for something that says "Global" or "Foreign" or "International" above the terminal. Then, when the options come up, you have to select international card. Domestic terminals won't have this option as a choice. I know some around my are (Soehyeon and Yatap), but I don't know where your neighborhood is. If you post your area, there's probably someone who knows where an international terminal is. |
