In case anyone was wondering, you can get an education discount from Apple if you are an English teacher. You'll save 5-10% on major purchases.

For instance, I got 5% off my 24" iMac, 2,080,000 won rather than the full price of 2,190,000.

Or you can get a brand-new, core 2 duo, 2.16 ghz, 20" iMac for 1,577,000 won. (that's 5% off the reg. price)

If you have a school ID, I don't see why not.

FYI, If you do it online, you don't have to have an ID, or actually, any proof whatsoever. You just have to go to the "Apple Education" website, not the regular Apple website. (If you go to the store, yes, you do need to show a school ID, but it doesn't have to be a currently valid school ID--and it can be a student OR a teacher ID.)

You fill out your name, what location your school is in, and what the name of your school is. There are drop-down boxes to choose from, in case you are so drunk/forgetful/etc. that you can't even think of a school to claim.

Not sure how this all works when one is in Korea, though. It's been a year or two since I've taken advantage of their educational discount.

I did it about 6 weeks ago, over the phone. No proof needed, although i was having it shipped to my school. (proof enough, I suppose)
