Take a look at your own contract. It will be stated in there. Every school is different, so there's no way to tell you. |

To be more helpful to you....
Your costs will be made understood only when you breach that conversation with your employer and they tell you what they are willing to do. Your contract may say this and that but many schools, as we know, don't take the wording too seriously.
Best bet is to have that conversation the day after you've been paid and hope that you can negociate (sp) for some of your deposit/severance pay/flight money. Don't count a single won until it's in your pocket though.
Good luck, whatever you do! |

Just do a runner! You cannot reason with most Koreans. They are too dishonest and two-faced. |

I would also take this person's advice... I am out airfare and the recruiting fee bc I did not just pull a runner. All of which I can not get back until I leave the god forsaken place in February. That was the only way I could finally pull a release letter out of my lying boss. And I do not want to hear from others, oh you teachers that pull runners. It is justified in every way if you do pull one. |

Sometimes a runner is all you can do.
You can TRY to reason with some hogwan owners/directors, and you can TRY to bargain with them, but, with the 100% crooks, all you can do in the end is just leave by surprise.
Make sure you do it as a last resort- mail out as much stuff as you can ahead of time- and TELL NO ONE. |
