Hey,

I was fired from my job and my boss didn't pay me my last month's wages so I have to take him to court. My e-2 visa was cancelled and am now on the miscellaneous/special purpose visa, G-1.

Does anyone know anything about the G-1 visa? I remember hearing somewhere that people on student visas could take up to 20 hours of privates a week to cover expenses. Does anyone know if I could get special permission to work on a G-1 visa?

I'd get an E-2 visa but the only jobs hiring soon just aren't appealing. I have 2 failed contracts (I quit the other one) at 2 bad schools so hagwons are a bit hesistant about me to begin with so my ability to change items in the contracts is nil. A case of desperate schools trying to exploit a desperate teacher. I just really don't know what to do but I figured it was at least worth looking into the G-1 thing. Most people know nothing about it and basically I count myself among them. I know I can't work now but can that be amended?

Thanks.

G-1 is diplomatic visa. Did you get that thru your parents or are you a CIA agent?

With diplomatic immunity, you can do lots and lots of privates. K-authorities can't touch you. Cool

If they ever bother you, just say "DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY" and show your passport.

A1 is the diplomatic visa.

G1 is the NON specific visa for those who stay does NOT fall under any of the other categories (C-H).
