Interesting article here...

I liked the part about taking your own cassettes. What would you take?

Damn, that's interesting.

Alright, next Soul Allnighter will be in Pyongyang. I'll just record everything onto tape.

I've tried North Korean beer.
It's more delicious than South Korean beer and has a decent kick at 5% alc.
It's sold in some bars in Itaewon sometimes.

It's a pretty old article, though. I clicked on one of the articles linked at the bottom and it was written in 1991. I suspect the article referenced here was about the same time, since it refers to people wearing lapel pins of Kim Il Sung, not Kim Jung Il.

I wonder what it's like now, 15 or so years later?

I know a guy who spent six months in Pyongyang. It's possible I'll see him tomorrow so I'll ask him for an update.

PS) He even managed to have a North Korean girlfriend.

I'd play Wind of Change by the Scorpions. Then I'd play Freedom by Rage Against the Machine. Then I'd play Maggie's Farm by Bob Dylan. That was Dylan, right?
