Individualists are all selfish ba%$#%ds and collectivists are all non-thinking conformists. Can anyone see a problem here?

An extreme postion on anything is NEVER healthy. The entire universe is about balance, humans can be quite lacking in it though sometimes. |

What? I think individualists may be the same in their tendency not to conform, but if one is a true individualists, their interests are going to be different due to not following other people's actions. |

I don't think it's a problem of individualists or collectivists, but our attitudes towards them. Like Laoguiguk said: There needs to be a balance. They are both necessary parts of a person in their own right.
