One of 3 missing Mt Hood ( Oregon ) climbers is Jerry Cooke who is from New York, his mom's name is Maria Kim. He is a lawyer and his wife Michaela looks like a Fillipino.
The rescure team just found a body of 3 climbers, they didn't identify yet who is.

Last week , America's lost family were James Kim ( senior editor at Cnet ) and his family and now it's 3 missing Mt Hood climbers.
Larry King at CNN interviewed Kati Kim's father physician Dr Phil Fleming and his wife Sandy Fleming who is an elementaty school teacher and Prime Time News Nancy Grace took all her program about James Kim case and Good Morning America ( ABC ), Today (NBC ), FOX, MSNBC...etc
They said James Kim's father is a powerful Korean-American businessman from Califonia, Kim family rented 3 helicopers to search his son, blah blah blah
Yesterday Maria Kim on TV thanked rescure team...

I followed James Kim case very closely, now I am following 3 missing climbers case, hopely remaining 2 returns alive.

I make fun of my K-boy and his love affair with that damn GPS in the car, but now I see these people need GPS otherwise they end up in the mountains on the other side of the world frozen to death.

PS. this explains why there were never any famous Korean explorers, they all got lost and ended up in Manchuria!

I'm only taking the piss. What drives me crazy is that there is a war going on in Iraq and all the US media is talking about is Kim and these climbers, sorry, its mother nature, thats the way she goes.

You're getting better Miss Seoul but you keep forgetting the emoticons.

Last summer a hiking party of Korean tourists got lost in the mountains of British Columbia and got to spend a cold, wet night up on a mountain. I bet they had a Korean 'guide' with them.

Oh well when I was in Switzerland I was staying in a mountain hostle with two out-of-shape Americans who were going ot climb a mountain that I (in very good shape at the time) knew better than to try. When I asked them if they had set the magnetic declination on from their map to their compass they asked 'what's that'? They didn't have a rope. They had a gasoline stove. ... they got rescued by helicopter later that same day.

Wow MissSeoul, I'm surprised you haven't yet started a thread about the latest winner of Survivor, who is Korean-American.

The body that rescure team found is Kelly James and another 2 are still missing.
Jerry Cooke is half American and half Korean.
