Let me apologize in advance for my lack of technological know how and appropriate terminology...and the length....

I've been having problems with my comp lately, here's the story"

So my comp was running slow.

I decided to download Norton to try to clean up the virus or whatever. 743 files were "fixed", and a few viruses were deleted.

But now my Word and Excel applications won't open. Basicaly, the system tries to load a file for the "front page" part of these programs, and asks me to insert my disk. Well, um, I don't have the disk, and I've never heard of Front Page before.

I think, well, I'm f'ed. Gotta take the comp in to a pro.



So I get back to work his week from vacation, and frontpage is on my comp here too.

The question is (finally) Is this one of those automatic software updates??? How can I fix my comp??? Yeah, I tried a system restore, but it didn't take hold.





Also, compy is still really slow. Any ideas on how to "tune it up"?

Yeah it sounds like you need to reinstall your Office Suite.

Windows defender is good and AVG anti Virus/Antispyware, Even Avast is good.

DON"T use norton aka Symantect we will phuck your machine so you can't use it.
