Hi

We need to get some travel insurance for a trip to Thailand, any suggestions on where to look?

I remember before when I was on the road in Vietnam and my insurance expired, I had to take emergency insurance from my UK insurance company.

I'm assuming that as I'm a resident of Korea now I can use a Korean firm?

Any suggestions?

We fly on sat!

I just used World Nomad. Its the offical travel insurance of Lonely Planet or somehow endorsed by them. For two it was 56 US$ for a trip to hte US. Covers Worldwide. Google it

Yes you can use a Korean firm. At the airport before you pass through passport control there is an AIG stand that sells travel insurance to foreigners. You just need your passport and ARC card.

Could you give a bit more info please Smile How much was it (roughly)? Do you remember which side of the building it was at (if you don't, don't worry.) Thank you.

How long is your trip?

For one week it varies between 15K to about 22K, I think (?), depending on your premium.

There are many stands by the immigration check points - you can't miss them!

I also need insurance for my upcoming trip to India. But my flight leaves at 9am on a Saturday. Do you think those airport insurance companies will be open before then, around 7am?
