I thought I'd share a story about some disgusting little pieces of sh*t that nearly ruined my friday night.

So, me and my g.f went to Harlem in Gangnam. We grabbed a drink as soon as we got in and hit the dance floor. We got down to some dancing and I was having a good time. I was busting a move (trying) in my own little world. After about half an hour she asked if we could leave. I was a bit surprised cos she loves getting down.

As soon as we got out of the club she said 'racist fu*kers' (she loves dropping the f bomb). I knew someone must have done something so I hesitantly asked what was up.

It turns out that there were a group of about 3 guys that were calling her a 'wh*re' in Korean for dancing with a white dude. I didnt even notice a damn thing. If I had of course I probably would be in jail now.

She was really upset and of course I wanted to explode. I kept my cool and she talked some sense into me about how they were just jealous and angry about a whitey 'stealing' a korean girl.

What sort of sh*t head people call a woman a wh*re to her face because she is dancing with someone of another race? Where the hell do those little feckers get off?

I've copped some abuse in this country - from the tennis club that wouldnt allow me to join because I was white, to the a.hole ajosshi that wouldnt let me in his shop in naemdaemun. This latest incident is going to take some beating however.

I want to make the obligiatory statement now like FU*K THIS COUNTRY! but I'm mature enough to know there are douches all over the world.

I've been here for 18 months. I know how this place works but its still a shock when someone pulls that type of shite.

I spent 8 years in the R.O.K. and can honestly say that I loved the women, liked the kids and tolerated the " men ". They ( the Korean men ) are, in a generalization, gutless cowards, who when one-on-one with a wayguk/Japanese male etc. will be smiling jack, s--- eating toads, but get them together with a couple of their insecure friends and some liquid courage and they are "brabube" enough to throw insults at a woman. Most of these guys are burning with jealousy when they see a " folliner " with a Korean female. A kyopo friend of mine once put it best: " They are pissed `cause they ain`t gettin` any "( and are unlikely to unless they get a good job-uh ).

I experienced something similar here in Southern California -- should've known better than to take a blonde girl to a club in Huntington Beach.

I am sorry that you had to endure such an awful thing like that. I will first say that any conduct like that is awful. Your g.f. doesn't deserve it ever.

On the otherside. How do western men view a white woman dancing with Korean or Black men? She would get the same sort of treatment. It goes to the way society values women. THey are and become tainted goods when they date outside of their race. Whereas the men of that race aren't degraded. You weren't called a *beep*-chaser, but your g.f. was called a *beep*. It is not Korea, or Korean men but all men of every race that have a tendancy to do this.

What would you think if a white woman said, "the reason that I came to Korea was to find a Korean husband."? However, many western men come to Korea for such reasons and they are not looked down upon.

In short. The world has a discriminatory, dual system in regards to inter-racial dating.

As a final note. Those guys will go home and end up jack'n off to internet porn. Why should she or you give a crap what someone so low would say. I don't get offended when some peasant says something ignorant. They are pitiful and their lives are so far beneath me, so why should I be upset by them. If it was a family member, friend or respected member of the community, then I would get upset.

I hope that you don't have to suffer too much of this blatant disregard for women and interacial relationships but no matter where you live you will always hear somethings from the ignorant. We must ignore and move on. You will not change their ideas and fighting every person that does such a thing will only show your brutality and uncivility in return. Not to mention ending up in Jail.

That kind of thing happens all over the world, even in the oh-so-enlightened west. I won't go into details, but inter-racial relationships aren't accepted by a lot of people. Don't get into a huff thinking it's some Korean flaw.

Who the hell cares what some idiot guys said in a bar. You are in Korea dancing in a bar called "Harlem." I'm sure that name alone would offend some. Thicken up - you're girl should have smiled and flipped them the bird.
