Mokpo has great group of foreigners. only about 40 but everyone is really close. I go to mokpo on weekends a lot, as I live in a big city but I have WAY more friends in Mokpo. Everyone does know everyone, and there are a lot of events and stuff like that. If you decided to go there, you would totally be welcomed and everyone would know about you.. haha...

I've been going there for years. One of my favorite places in Korea. Great place.

My best mate just did a year there and loved it. Small bunch of foreigners but close and very sociable. Cheaper than Seoul but they seem to go out non-stop from what I hear. He did say that perhaps a year was a slight drag towards the end but I think you'll have a great time there. Sometimes it seems as though it's harder to meet ppl in the much bigger places.
